80ª edición dos Óscar

A 80ª edición dos Óscar, presentada pola Academia das Artes e das Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS), galardoou os mellores filmes de 2007 dos Estados Unidos e celebrouse o 24 de febreiro de 2008 no Kodak Theatre de Hollywood, Os Ánxeles. Durante a cerimonia, a Academia das Artes e das Ciencias Cinematográficas presentou os Premios da Academia (comunmente coñecidos como Oscars) en 24 categorías. Gil Cates foi o produtor do evento, facendo con esta a súa décimo cuarta quenda. Jon Stewart presentou a cerimonia, sendo a segunda vez. Anteriormente presentara a 78ª edición dos Óscar.

Non é un país para vellos dominou a gala acadando catro premios dos oito ós que optaba, incluíndo o Óscar ó mellor filme. Por primeira vez dende a 37ª edición dos Óscar (1964), a Academia entregou os catro premios de interpretación a actores non americanos. Os galardoados foron: Daniel Day-Lewis (irlandés) por There Will Be Blood (Mellor actor), Marion Cotillard (francesa) por La Môme (Mellor actriz), Javier Bardem (español) por Non é un país para vellos (Mellor actor secundario) e Tilda Swinton (inglesa) por Michael Clayton (Mellor actriz secundaria). A cerimonia continuou coa tendencia dos anos anteriores, sen un filme premiado máis de catro veces.

Gañadores e nomeados Os nomeados desta edición foron anunciados o 22 de xaneiro polo presidente da Academia, Sid Ganis, e a actriz Kathy Bates, no Samuel Goldwyn Theater na sede da Academia en Beverly Hills (California). Os filmes Non é un país para vellos e There Will Be Blood recibiron cada un deles oito nomeamentos.
