Lipopeptide izražajo na površini tudi bakterije, ki jih kot s patogeni povezane molekulske vzorce prepoznajo tolični receptorji. Vežejo se na tolični receptor tipa 2 (TLR2), ki tvori heterodimer s TLR6 ali TLR1.
