La stagione 2005 del Campionato mondiale Turismo è stata la seconda edizione del campionato della FIA. È iniziata il 10 aprile e è terminata il 20 novembre dopo venti gare. Il campionato piloti è stato vinto dall'inglese Andy Priaulx, quello costruttori dalla BMW e quello Indipendenti dal tedesco Marc Hennerici.
Organizzato dalla KSO, il campionato è un proseguimento del precedente ETCC, elevato a Titolo Mondiale dalla FIA con l'introduzione di gare fuori dall'Europa. Il Titolo Europeo è assegnato nel nuovo European Touring Car Cup, un evento composto da due sole manche.
