Biografia Nato e cresciuto nel quartiere londinese di Hackney, Jake Nava si è trasferito negli Stati Uniti d'America in cui ha avviato una prolifica carriera di regista videografico. Nel 1994 ha debuttato nel settore dirigendo un video della cantante inglese Lulu, intitolato Goodbye Baby and Amen. Nel settembre 2000 lavora al videoclip di Holler, singolo della celebre band britannica Spice Girls. Nel luglio dell'anno successivo ritorna a lavorare con la boy band Blue nel video di Too Close, per il quale aveva già diretto il video Fly by II.
Tra giugno e luglio 2002, Nava dirige due video della girl band Atomic Kitten, anch'essa britannica; il 2003 segna una svolta nella sua carriera: per la prima volta dirige videoclip americani, lavorando a due singoli consecutivi della cantante Beyoncé, Crazy in Love e Baby Boy, che gli faranno guadagnare fama e riconoscimenti. L'anno successivo lavora dapprima con Kylie Minogue nel video di Red Blooded Woman, dirige per la prima volta Britney Spears nel videoclip di My Prerogative, cover di Bobby Brown, e filma un nuovo video di Beyoncé, Naughty Girl. Nel 2015 lavora con Lana Del Rey nel video del primo singolo estratto dall'album "Honeymoon".
