Biografia Nacque nel 1932 a Uppsala dall'organista Henry Weman (1897-1992) e da Birgitta Stavenow (1907-2001).
Conseguì i titoli di fil. kand e teol. kand nel 1954 e nel 1958, anno in cui fu ordinato sacerdote. Nel 1956 sposò Barbro Sendel (1932), figlia di Olof Sendel e di Hanna Lindén.
Dal 1969 al 1984 prestò servizio a Sigtuna e dal 1985 al 1986 diresse il dipartimento della chiesa svedese per il culto e l'evangelizzazione.
Nel 1986 fu ordinato vescovo di Luleå e nel 1993 divenne arcivescovo di Uppsala. Nel 1997 andò in pensione e si trasferì a Sigtuna, dove morì il giorno prima di compiere 92 anni.
