Masami Suda (16 de setembre de 1943 - 1 d'agost de 2021) fou un animador i dissenyador de personatges japonès. Va ser membre de l'Associació de Directors d'Animació del Japó (JAniCA). Era originari de la prefectura de Saitama.
Biografia Es va incorporar breument a Tatsunoko Productions, marxant-ne al cap de quatre mesos perquè el volien fer treballar com a assistent de producció i no com a membre de l'equip d'animació. Després va fer l'examen d'accés a A Productions (després Shin -Ei Animation). Completada la formació, es va incorporar seguidament a Tama Productions, abans de posar-se a treballar com a autònom. Des de llavors, ha participat en nombroses produccions de Tatsunoko Productions i Toei Animation.
Les seves habilitats de dibuix són molt lloades, i a Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, sovint va ser seleccionat per dibuixar l'animació d'episodis dirigits pel director general, Nagayuki Toriumi. Tomonori Kogawa va comentar que "mai havia vist ningú més hàbil que ell".
Als 30 anys, va patir una malaltia del sistema nerviós, fet que el va portar a mantenir un horari laboral molt limitat per la resta de la seva vida. Aquesta rigorosa disciplina horària, molt poc habitual al món del manga i l'anime, la va mantenir fins i tot durant els seus anys a Toei Animation.
L'abril de 2016 va rebre el PREMI NEMOLAND LEGEND i el 2018 va guanyar el Premi al Logro d'Anime al Festival de Premis d'Anime de Tòquio 2018.
Li van diagnosticar càncer de pròstata el juliol de 2020 i va ser ingressat i donat d'alta repetidament per centrar-se en el tractament, però el seu estat va empitjorar el juliol de 2021.
Va morir a casa seva l'1 d'agost de 2021.
