Hunt, A.P. 1989. Comments on the taxonomy of North American metoposaurs and a preliminary phylogenetic analysis of the family Metoposauridae, in Lucas, SG and Hunt, AP, eds., Dawn of the age of dinosaurs in the American Southwest, pàg. 292-300 Albuquerque, New Mexico Museum of Natural History. Alguns espècimens atribuïts a Anaschisma sp. pertanyen a Apachesaurus.Sulej, T., 2002: Species discrimination of the Late Triassic temnospondyl amphibian Metoposaurus diagnosticus.
